About

Hiya! My name is Melissa, and I create my jewelry using hand-forming techniques with sheet metal and wire in sterling silver and 14k gold. None of my pieces are cast, nor do I utilize cast elements, so each piece has unique characteristics and is one of a kind! I’m heavily influenced by nature, fantasy, and whimsy, which is reflected in my jewelry using organic textures, soft shapes, playful colors, and found objects. I intend to create statement pieces suited for everyday wear and enjoyment.

I was born in Wisconsin and have lived in Appleton and Milwaukee, but am currently calling Madison home. During the pandemic in 2020, I was on hiatus from my serving job and decided to take a chance on an apprenticeship as a bench jeweler—six years later, I’m still a full-time jeweler and have taught myself how to create my own pieces in my free time at my humble home studio.

My free time also consists of hiking and camping, where I gain creative inspiration through the various textures of rocks and bark, the moss carpeting the ground, and the unique patterns of leaves that surround me. Sometimes I like photographing my pieces within the beautiful scenery. I’ve always enjoyed delving into different mediums, and I've been thrilled to say metal has become my favorite!
